Strategy . AI . Outcomes

More value.
Less risk.
Outcomes that last.

Avowal helps organisations identify where AI can create measurable benefit, test what is possible and carry the right approach through to working solutions.

Our approach

Three commitments, one accountable team.

Every engagement is tailored to the objective. Scott and Marcus remain directly accountable from initial advice through implementation.

01

Greater value

We start with your strategic objectives and the benefits worth pursuing. Director-led, responsive delivery maintains continuity from the first conversation through implementation and checks whether the intended value is being realised.

02

Lower risk

When feasibility or the best approach is uncertain, we work alongside your team to test ideas with real examples and working outputs before committing to detailed specifications or a full build. We are willing to share the effort and risk of that experimentation.

03

Sustainable outcomes

Knowledge sharing, mentoring and practical coaching run throughout the work. We leave tools, systems and documentation your staff can operate and improve. Support and oversight can continue as they take increasing responsibility, with independence as the goal.

Case study / 01

Australian transport. Engineering information.

~94%passed configured confidence and validation gates
~75%smaller priority review queue with AI assistance
>90%target reduction in recurring processing labour cost after build

Making four decades of engineering drawings searchable.

A large Australian transport operator had collated engineering drawings over a 40-year period. While scanning them, it wanted the digitised files to be searchable and ready to connect to new project-management systems.

After a 90-minute briefing, Avowal used an initial image sample to show proposed filenames, metadata and exception rules as working outputs. The client could review something concrete before the pilot specification was settled. Discovery finished within two weeks and became the agreed working specification.

We then built the Engineering Drawing Archive Assistant for modern CAD files, faint legacy scans and handwritten amendments. Local OCR and deterministic rules handle predictable work first; AI is called selectively for uncertain fields, and unresolved decisions go to people with the ambiguity identified.

About 6% of drawings were routed to targeted review. Within a month of the first meeting, the system was ready for broader use on future scanned batches.

Value target

Avowal designed the system to target more than 90% lower recurring processing costs for comparable drawing batches after build, while retaining targeted human review and approval.

Who we are

Experienced directors who stay accountable.

Avowal brings together rail, infrastructure and financial-services experience with engineering, programme delivery and hands-on AI implementation. Our directors work directly with client teams from problem definition through delivery.

Scott Riedel brings more than 35 years across rail, engineering, infrastructure and governance. He has held senior executive roles and chairs a mutual bank.

Marcus Salouk brings more than 35 years across technology, consulting and financial services, combining hands-on AI delivery with programme management and benefits realisation.
